EMERGENCY
RESPONSE
These local radio stations:
FM 103.5,
FM 101.9,
FM 105.3 and
AM 720 often carry
updated information and alerts.
In case of an emergency call the Wellsville Police
Department - @911 or for non-emergency (585)593-5600
We are fortunate to have a
volunteer
ambulance corps. that can be contacted for emergencies @911.
911
They will contact the Department of Public Works personnel
that are needed to address the emergency situation. Allegany County has 911
service that will link you to the Wellsville Dispatch center.
Fire--Wellsville Fire Department will respond. If
this is a larger facility then the DPW will likely be contacted to shut off your
utilities while repairs are made.
Floods--The central part of the Village near the
Genesee River and along Dyke Creek is within the 100 year flood plain. As such
it is prone to occasional flooding issues. You should be aware if you are
within the flood plain during heavy storm events. Contact the DPW (585)
593-1850 to determine if you are within or close to the floodplain. You should
also listen to local radio channels for emergency alerts.
Winds-Should
winds knock down trees or knock down electric wires contact the Public Works
department at (585) 593-1850 or call the police dispatch to report this. The
Electric crews will work to restore power as soon as possible. Trees within the
public right of way will be dealt with as soon as possible. Trees on private
property are not the Village responsibility, but are the landowner's
responsibility.
