ELECTRIC DIVISION

The Village of Wellsville is a Municipal Electric Company in the State of New York.  The Village is part of an organization called the MEUA and reports directly to the PSC.  The Department maintains all lines within the Village and operates a number of Transmission Stations.  The Department responds directly to residents and businesses needs and also works through the Village Clerks office for billing concerns.  The Clerk is charged with having the meters read and processing all bills.  The Clerk maintains all records for accounting purposes on behalf of the Electric Department.  The Department is purely in the business of bringing a good power source at a very good rate to the property owners of the Village in a safe manner.  The Village participates in a program through the IEEP for Energy Efficiency. Rebates for purchasing energy efficient eletrical products such as air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, ceiling fans, washer, dishwashers, water heaters are available. The Village enjoys a favorable rate structure because of this Municipal Electric Company system.
