There is NO Commercial Pick-Up in the Village of Wellsville as of 2005. Commercial properties should contact one of the local haulers.

Bulky Trash Collection: to schedule bulky trash collection, please contact the Department of Public Works for details. There is a $10 fee per bulky trash collection. This service is being provided as an on-call basis rather than the former 1 or 2 times/year system. Sign-up one week for pickup the following week.

Recycling Schedule
The Village of Wellsville participates with the County and the goals of the recycling effort of New York State.  As such each week is designated for a different material to be picked up.  Glass Bottles, Metal Cans, Plastic Containers and Newspapers/Magazines & Cardboard are all picked up on this rotating schedule.  Click here for a pdf of the weekly schedule. Acceptable Items:
Please note that starting June 2008 the schedule is a 5 week cycle

GLASS BOTTLES & JARS: Please rinse, labels can be left on, remove lids and neck rings.  Separate by color.

METAL CANS: Tin, Steel, aluminum and bi-metal cans are accepted.  Rinse & remove labels.

PLASTIC CONTAINERS: Only plastic containers marked with the recycling symbols and a  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 are acceptable.  Rinse out and remove lids.

NEWSPAPERS/MAGAZINES: Will accept newspapers including all inserts, colored or glossy papers and coupons, magazines and catalogs, telephone books and paper back books, junk mail including envelopes, computer paper, letterhead, copy paper, tablet, fax paper and greeting cards.

CARDBOARD: Cardboard boxes must be broken down, bundled, and tied.  Will accept corrugated cardboard boxes, single layered cardboard, and box board including cereal boxes, tissue boxes, shoe boxes, etc. Brown paper bags.  Clean Pizza boxes with no pizza in them or other greasy materials are accepted.

NOT ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS

GLASS BOTTLES & JARS WEEK: No window glass, auto glass, mirrors, flourescent bulbs, light bulbs, drinking glasses, dishes, pottery or ceramics, NO blue glass or white glass.


METAL CANS WEEK: No Propane cylinders, aerosol, paint or fuel cans, or cans with any kind of non-metal lining.  No aluminum pie tins or foil.


PLASTIC CONTAINERS: No Motor Oil Containers. No Styrofoam or plastic bags.


NEWSPAPERS/MAGAZINES: No manilla folders, manilla envelopes or padded mailing envelopes


CARDBOARD WEEK: No milk cartons, juice boxes, waxed coated boxes, beer containers, egg cartons, cardboard tubes, cones, white cardboard or PIZZA BOXES. BOXES MUST BE BROKEN DOWN, BUNDLED AND TIED

September 7, 2009: will pickup on: September 8, 2009, Tuesday
November 11, 2009: will pickup on:November 12, 2009, Thursday
November 26, 2009: will pickup on:November 24, 2009, Tuesday
November 27, 2009: will pickup on:November 25, 2009, Wednesday
December 24, 2009: will pickup on:December 22, 2009, Tuesday
December 25, 2009: will pickup on:December 23, 2009, Wednesday
January 1, 2010: will pickup on: December 31, 2009, Thursday
February 15, 2010: will pickup on:February 16, 2010, Tuesday
May 31, 2010: will pickup on: June 1, 2010, Tuesday

Place items at curbside with your household garbage no later than 6:00 am on the day of pickup.

If placing garbage out in plastic bags, use CLEAR bags only. Weight limit of 50 lbs. per container. No yard debris. If you don't follow these rules then your materials may not be picked and will be tagged for non-compliance.

Recyclable material and solid waste are collected on the same day but in different vehicles and at different times.
